Smart Switches (Premium Range)
Why should I choose Thread over Zigbee or WiFi enabled products?
Choose Thread for reliability and low-power devices, thanks to its self-healing mesh network and IP-based IPv6 foundation. This makes it a future-proof choice that enables direct, seamless communication between devices and the internet, unlike Zigbee which requires a proprietary hub. While Wi-Fi is best for high-bandwidth devices like cameras, Thread is ideal for a network of low-power, battery-operated sensors, locks, and other smart home gadgets that need robust and stable connectivity.
Unlike older systems where a central hub failure could be catastrophic. In a Thread network, if one device (such as a border router) fails, other devices can automatically re-route traffic to maintain communication.
A Thread network can have multiple border routers, which connect the Thread network to your home’s IP network and the internet. If one border router fails or loses power, the network is able to dynamically choose another one to handle the external communication, ensuring the network remains operational.
Can they work as a three way or 2-way switching? (control one light from multiple switches)
Yes, the typical setup is one smart switch will power the light, the second switch will act as a remote (with no load connected). Then using automation the two switches can mirror each other state. This way you get the light state synced across both switches.
You can also add as many switches to this setup in order to control one light source from multiple switches.
Can the blue LED backlight be changed?
No, the switch blue backlight LED is ON when the switch is ON and very dim when OFF (so it can be not distracting in a dark room like a bedroom)
Do I need the included capacitor when there is no neutral wire at the wall?
Yes, the included capacitor makes sure the voltage is stable to the switch for stable operation. It needs to be wired accross the light in the roof (please refer to the user manual in the Switch product page).
Please note that it needs to only be wired across the controlled light wired to the L1 output.
Do I need a licenced electrician to install the switches?
Yes, you absolutely need a licensed electrician to install switches in Australia because this type of electrical work is dangerous, illegal to do yourself, and requires a uniquely numbered Certificate of Compliance Electrical Work (CCEW). Improper installation can lead to serious injury, fire, or even death.

Smart Dimmers (Prestige Range)
Can they work as a three way switching? (control one light from multiple switches)
No, as each dimmer needs to be powering a light (minimum 5W load)
Is the neutral wire required?
No, whether the neutral wire is present at the wall or not, you can power the dimmer from the live wire and the load wire without needing a capacitor. A minimum of a 5W load is required in order to power up the dimmer itself.
How to dim via the wall dimmer?
A quick press to toggle ON or OFF. While the light is ON, you can press and hold to dim down then press and hold again to dim up, you can keep changing from dimming up or down until you reach your desired dimming level.
Do I need a licenced electrician to install the dimmer?
Yes, you absolutely need a licensed electrician to install switches in Australia because this type of electrical work is dangerous, illegal to do yourself, and requires a uniquely numbered Certificate of Compliance Electrical Work (CCEW). Improper installation can lead to serious injury, fire, or even death.
