Shishir –
I have four of these devices for my vertical blinds on cathedral windows, and they have been performing well for the past four months. As a Matter over Thread protocol device, they integrated seamlessly into my Apple Home app. One significant advantage is that they do not come with a native app, which I appreciate since I already have too many OEM apps on my phone. The promise of Matter over Thread is a single app to set up and control all your devices, and these truly deliver on that. Everything is managed through a Matter-enabled app, in my case, the Apple Home app.
The only minor drawback is that all limit settings—such as maximum opening limits and left or right-hand curtain configurations—must be set directly on the motor itself, which then communicates with the Home app. Once configured, the Home app or Siri handles the rest, including opening, closing, and adjusting the percentage of opening based on conditions like too much light or evening time.
On the plus side, manually setting the maximum limit on the motor can be beneficial if you prefer not to use any app at all, as it includes buttons and a remote for operation as a non-smart device.
